That's why some foreigner (cans) who don't get thrown off by headbutts can overcome fighters here with teeps and jabs to decision. Even the way Lethwei fighters here headbutts are pretty much raw than technical lol.
In terms of techniques, many of them are not really formalized and more primal than anything. There are some regional events here and there but you rarely seen an event in major cities without some big name fighters in it. I don't follow Lethwei too much (but I'm no stranger to big names, even foreign Lethwei guys). It is like saying that Michael Jordan is not the GOAT beacuse when he was in the Wizards he didnt do that well. That was increible.įedor for me is the GOAT reign. He was also in the biggest MMA fight ever, cro cop vs fedor, and he won it standing up. The cool thing about Fedor is that he was finishing those monsters. Worse thing that can happen to MMA is to transform it into point fighting. I don't mean in a silly reckless way like Wanderley vs Vitor, but it should always be your objective. I dont care if it is TKO, KO, GnP, Sub, it doesn't matter, I think a fighter should always aim for the finish. But in this sport, finishing fights is very important, and propels fighters from the mid range to the high range in terms of popularity. I know now Reddit is in the narrative of "Khabib doesn't finish fights because he doesn't want to". Main difference between Khabib and Fedor is that Fedor was finishing people.
